If you have a slow internet connection you may not be able to watch the video directly from the home page and/or it may take a very long time to load on the home page. If you are experiencing delays or are unable to watch the video we recommend downloading the video from the downloads page (/downloads).
Playing the video on the website home page will still use your download quota. Your download quota is affected by:
1) How much of the video you watch.
2) Which version—high or low quality—plays on your computer. The player will automatically play high quality if your internet connection is fast enough.
3) Watching the video in Full Screen or Normal Screen.
On average, watching 1 hour of video from our website will use about 500mb of download quota, depending on the variations mentioned in 2) and 3) above.
We recommend downloading the High Quality version because the image is much clearer and easier to watch in Full Screen. In the Low Quality version the text on the diagrams cannot be read.
You should check your download quota before deciding which version to download. Some older and cheaper internet plans and connections have limited download quotas which, if you exceed, may result in you being charged extra or your internet speed reduced until the end of your billing month.
Contact your internet service provider to discuss your current plan and options.
To download and store each Part on your computer, you will need to go the Downloads Page (/downloads), click on the Part you wish to download and choose the location to download (i.e. save) it to (e.g. Desktop). If you have trouble locating the files once you have saved them, search for the first part of the file name, e.g.‘WTMIntroPart’, in your computer’s search facility.
To watch these videos on your computer after you have downloaded them you may need to download software that is capable of playing the H.264 video file format. The following programs are all able to play H.264 format videos and can be downloaded free of charge: iTunes, QuickTime, VLC media player, Media Player Classic, FFDshow (a plugin for Windows Media Player), Microsoft’s Zune Player Software and Miro.
Alternatively, you can download an MP3 format of the Audio (/audio) of the Introductory Video. An MP3 can be listened to on any program or device that can play MP3 files (which is most electronic media players, including iPods, Zune, Winamp, Windows Media Player, some mobile phones, etc.).
The easiest way to put the video or audio on your iPod/iPhone is to download the iPod/iPhone (/ipodvideo) version (for iPods that can play video), or the Audio (/audio) of the video (for non-video iPods). Once downloaded (to your downloads folder or wherever you specified it to download to) you can transfer the file/s to iTunes for syncing to your iPod.
